Buddig Teams Up to Fight Hunger

Providing families with great tasting meats at affordable prices isn’t just what keeps Buddig in business, it’s a cause we believe in wholeheartedly. So it breaks our hearts to know that, even today, so many people don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.

That’s why we’re teaming up with the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) for Hunger Action Month this September. The GCFD is a nonprofit food distribution center that supplies over 650 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and mobile units with food. To support the GCFD, Buddig employees are hosting a company food drive and volunteering to help repack donated food.

But that’s not all! We are inviting our Facebook fans to help us support this worthy cause with our ​third annual #ShareALunch program. We are asking fans to post pictures of what they have for lunch each day. For every picture shared, we will donate a package of Buddig lunchmeat to the GCFD (worth up to a total of $10,000). Together, we can help beat hunger!

Getting kids ready to go back to school at the end of summer is challenging for many families. Between purchasing school supplies, lunches and clothes and staying up to date on immunizations, the expenses can add up quickly.

To help Chicago area families ensure their kids get a head start on the school year, WGN-TV hosts an annual Back-to-School Kids Fair. It’s a free event, with safety tips, entertainment, health screenings and food. That’s where we came in!

Buddig was on hand at the fair for the second year in a row, providing families with school supplies, coupons and, of course, great-tasting Old Wisconsin meat snacks! Buddig Walks to End Breast Cancer

Buddig knows there’s more to walking than simply working up an appetite. It means supporting the many women who work for us, and women around the world, who have been affected by breast cancer.

So for the fourth year, Carl Buddig and Company sent a team of walkers to participate in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Coupled with Jeans Days (an office favorite) and generous employee donations of raffle items, Buddig’s participation in the walk ensures crucial backing for the Society’s continual push for a cure and support for at-risk women.

Knowing 1 in 8 women will be affected by invasive breast cancer in their lifetime, we’re delighted to have donated over $15,000 to the cause. But we’re not stopping there.

We invite you to join us in making strides against the disease by contributing to the American Cancer Society. Giving back can be as simple as moving forward.
