Monte Cubano Sandwich


  • 8 oz. Buddig Premium Deli Smoked Ham
  • 8 oz. Buddig Premium Deli Smoked Honey Turkey
  • 8 oz. Swiss cheese
  • 2 ea dill pickles - large
  • 1 tbl yellow mustard
  • 4 eggs - large
  • 1 oz milk
  • 1 oz. parmesan cheese - grated
  • 1 oz. preferred Cuban Seasoning Mix
  • 12 slices of white bread
  • 2 tbl butter
  • 2 tbl vegetable oil

  • Lay three slices of bread on a cutting board, spread mustard on two of them (these will be the top and bottom slices). Layer Swiss cheese, ham and pickle on one slice, top with the middle slice of bread (the one without mustard), finish with turkey and additional Swiss cheese. Top with remaining slice of bread.
  • With a sharp knife, trim off crusts of bread (this aids in sealing the sandwich) and tightly wrap sandwich in plastic wrap.
  • Repeat with remaining sandwiches and refrigerate for 1 – 4 hours to properly seal.
  • Mix parmesan cheese and Cuban seasoning mix in a small bowl and reserve for serving.
  • When ready to serve, heat the butter and oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Combine eggs, milk and half of the parmesan/Cuban seasoning mixture in a medium size mixing bowl.
  • Remove sandwiches from plastic wrap and gently dip both sides into egg batter and coat evenly.
  • Season with remaining seasoning mix and place on skillet.
  • Cook on each side until a golden brown crust forms.
  • Slice each sandwich on the diagonal and serve.
